Description

The project involved System Integration/Merger of Essex Gas, Colonial Gas and Energy North Gas companies into Boston Gas Company, which is carried out as three projects as each acquisition is a separate process. The projects are about the integration of the above systems into Boston Gas and make the Customer Support System of Boston Gas handle multiple companies and reduce system cost. The new system handles the combined operation of multiple companies and does company wise billing and reports. All the functionality's, which are different for each company and which are not present in BGC system, have been incorporated using a 'company code' processing technique.

Description

Freeagent.com is a premier portal devoted to provide companies to post their projects and for software professionals and others to independently get these projects. This portal is promoted by Opus 360, NY.

  • Designed and developed a new architecture for the website using COM and Java. The three layers of the architecture are Data, Business and Presentation Layers. Data Layer is developed in Java, business and presentation layers were developed using COM technology in VB 6.0. 

  • Involved in the development of all the three layers. XML was used for data interchange between the three layers. Business layer and Presentation layer was developed using VB 6.0. These components are developed using COM technology and is designed to work under MTS. Data access layer is developed in MS Visual Java and uses MTS for database transactions.

  • Team lead for the development and integration of the Ecommerce modules to freeagent.com.

  • Developed web pages for the Xchange module in freeagent.com using ASP. This includes project posting, skills posting and finally a page to match the Skills posted with the skills of the free agents present in the database.

  • Wrote Stored Procedures extensively for the entire site.

  • Developed and integrated the E-commerce module with the Xchange module. Ecommerce kicks in whenever a project is being posted or a posted project is being filled. Enabled the creation of corporate accounts and acceptance of credit cards using Cyber Cash.

  • Developed the E-commerce Admin module to help the administrator to keep track of the Corporate and User account activities in the site. Various reports for invoicing and analysis are generated.

  • Project lead for the development of the revised Xchange 2.0 module 

  • Team Lead in the design and development of two different tools to export data from freeagent.com database to AltaVista and to import data from Career Exchange to freeagent.com database.
