This DLSS system designed for Department of Education "Student Loan Program." System processes various types of US Government student loans (Subsidized Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Unsubsidized Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Federal Direct PLUS and Federal Direct Consolidation Loan); uses various types of business functionalities to process each loan; provides facility to borrowers to select repayment plans according to their financial circumstances; allows borrowers to change repayment plans if financial circumstances change. Loan servicing involves processing of loan disbursements, loan modification, repayments, forbearance, and deferments schedule; and calculation of repayment installments, interest, incentives and other types of entities involved with repayments types.

Involved in Design and Development of new Oracle Rdb tables; Wrote new Cobol programs to update the tables; Created extract files for various types of Reports and further processing for the new release of DLSS system; Wrote DEC C & TCP/IP programs to read/write data from remote system; and Involved in enhancement, Bug fixing, Testing and SQL Tuning for various modules in different Releases of DLSS System.
