When Franklin Acceptance had a need to develop a system to automate their mailing of letters to individuals and organizations in different states, a technical team member from Magna Infotech helped develop it.
This system provides an easy and efficient way to create and maintain large assortment of letters pertaining to various activities of the organization for the different states of the USA. It meets all legal requirements of the individual states and provides the ability to submit letter request automatically and interactively. A Letter Maintenance Utility was provided to allow the input of letter text, maintain version control and allow for the batch generation of letters. |

These chips are capable of storing general and personal information of an individual and can also have a number of applications on it. One such application is the Electronic Purse application. This is similar to magnetic card payment, but the money is transferred from chip to payment device which has a similar chip to store the money. Electronic purse can be loaded by connecting to the host system using X.25. Before connecting, the loading device validates the purse and also checks the personal code. The host system then connects the bank system and the purse is loaded. |

It communicates with the retailer's device (cash register) using RS232 (huge EAP data link level protocol). The retailer instructs the Pinpad to make a particular type of payment. The Pinpad can handle Chipper payments, Chipknip payment as well as magnetic stripe payments. Once the payment is made, the Pinpad will instruct the retailer's device to print the ticket. |
